Tonite was a weird night so the music was a bit disjointed as the show went on but, played many great tunes. While it is hard to try and play music for all kinds of moods, opinion it makes it that much harder when no one is listening lol. Oh well it is my therapy! I really like Shaggy’s version of Oh, Carolina but the 1959 version of the song by The Folkes Brothers is an amazing song and the original version as it is about a girlfriend of the band named Carolina and how she used to dance and her persona. That version also brought to the world all about Jamaican music. The Moody Blues had a song called I’m just a singer in a rock N roll band because bassist John Lodge was tired of being asked about world events because The Moody Blues were considered modern day prophets and he wanted it known they weren’t. We featured Live from their 1994 Throwing Copper album and the song The Dam At Otter Creek, it was based on a swimming area near the bands hometown where swimmers used to plug up the dam to go diving in the pool but one local teen dived in and it was too shallow, needless to say He died. “Be There Now” was repeated throughout the song as a commentary about living in the here and now and not to let the past and grief get us down.
