Well todays started out on the most amazing opening to this show i have ever done, concise, verbally legible, fact filled and was so proud of myself that i had to congratulate me for that opening…then i realized that the mic wasn’t on. There will be a blank space after the opening song by Stone Temple Pilots, just ignore it. Can i ever have a better opening sequence again? Well we are here for the music not my language skills…right?

On March 24, 2026, Ward thought the opening to the Langdon Auger Show had gone beautifully, then realized his microphone wasn’t on. He welcomed listeners to the live chat, took requests, let Oliver choose the dance song, and shared a few Banff memories before looking ahead to the next day’s show.

About this episode

After realizing the microphone hadn’t been on, Ward welcomes listeners to the live chat and invites them to talk about mental health or the stormy Alberta weather. Robin is already there. Later he greets Oliver and GP, thanks the listeners for their support, and asks for more requests.

Ward asks people in northern Alberta whether they’re still getting snow. Oliver chooses the dance song, and later Ward recalls living and working in Banff, walking to work and seeing elk while listening to his Walkman.

[Timing uncertain.] We’re introduced into North America with their Face to Face album. We had them here in Canada as Angel City. But because of a lawsuit, they had to give up that name and had to go with the Angels. And, of course, that was “Marseille.” Our Lady Peace in before that, a little “Superman’s Dead.” And we also had Jimi Hendrix starting off that set, giving us a little “Purple Haze.”

And if you were here right at the beginning of the show, I probably had the most incredible beginning of the show. The first song ended, and I went on. Oh, it was so beautiful. It was amazing. And then I realized that the microphone wasn’t turned on again. Eh, what can you do? It was pretty amazing. And then I went, “Why can’t I hear myself?” Oh, right, the microphone’s not on. Yeah.

Now, welcome to the Langdon Auger Show right here on mentalhealthradio.ca. Thirteen minutes after five, we’re going to continue on some great tunes. Don’t forget, this is how we work. We like to play music, but we also like chit-chatting. So if you’re on the server and you’re listening in, just come on down to the live chat there. Enter your username. Don’t forget to save it. Let’s have some chit-chat. Robin’s already in here. Unfortunately, there’s no prize for Robin for being the first one in chat. Sorry, Robin. But, yeah, come on down. Let’s talk. You want to talk mental health? You want to talk about the weather that’s starting to storm out there again? Welcome to Alberta, right? Let’s get back to it.

This is Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band with “Hollywood Nights.” Electric Light Orchestra in before that with “Don’t Bring Me Down.” And we start that set off with Supertramp and “School.” How are you doing? Twenty-nine minutes after five. Thanks for tuning in on this Tuesday, March 24th. If you’re living in the Alberta, northern Alberta area anyway, are you getting snow? Is winter not over yet? What is going on? So much for spring, right? Yeah. Thanks for tuning in nonetheless. Let’s get back to some music.

What a great request there, Carly Simon, going out to GP listening in today, and yes, that song was all about Warren Beatty, but it was thought to be about James Taylor because he was quite a narcissist. And then it was also thought to be about Todd Rundgren because he stole Steven Tyler’s wife and the wife of a close friend, you know. So, nope, all about Warren Beatty. In before that, another request with John Lennon and “Imagine.” We started off that set with Chris de Burgh and “Spanish Train.” Twenty minutes to the hour of six. Thanks again for tuning in on this Tuesday, March 24th. We’ve got Oliver in the house, we’ve got GP in the house, and of course Robin has been here right from the very start. So thank you all for your support. We appreciate that. But don’t forget, we’ve already had a couple of requests, but we still got time to have some more. So let’s get back to some music, shall we?

Well, if you didn’t know, that is Martha and the Muffins with “Echo Beach.” Pretenders in before that with “Don’t Get Me Wrong,” and Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts started off that set with “A Crime Against Love.” How are y’all doing? Eight minutes before the top of the hour, six o’clock, of course. We have our dance portion of the show today. That’s going to be happening right after this set. So we have a request to play, and we’re going to play some Paul Young, underrated singer in my opinion. I just don’t have a lot of them, but I do have this one.

They are so good to see even live. That is “Tin Soldier.” We had Reflex in before that with “The Politics of Dancing.” Paul Young by request. And “Every Time You Go Away,” it’s four minutes after six, which means it’s got to be the dance portion of our showtime. And it is. It worked out perfect, didn’t it? So Oliver has picked today’s dance song. So get ready for that one. You’re going to need to stretch it out and get a little hydrated there. But that comes up after this.

01:19:48

[Timing uncertain within a mixed song and host transition. Sung words omitted.] A nice slow dance tune by April Wine and “You Won’t Dance with Me.” And before that, the Georgia Satellites, “Keep Your Hands to Yourself.” Of course, that was our dance portion of the show. Thank you, [Oliver?], for that one.

Elton John started off with “Crocodile Rock.” Fifteen minutes after six. Thanks for tuning in. Thanks for all the great requests so far. We still got ABBA coming up. It’s just a little bit later in the show, but we’re going to get back to some music.

01:20:14

[Audio not transcribed.]

01:32:57

The Eurythmics there with “Would I Lie to You?” And before that, we had the Counting Crows from their “August and Everything Else” album, “Rain King.” And, of course, Meat Loaf along with Cher on vocals with “Dead Ringer for Love.” It’s just about half an hour left in the show. Thanks again for everybody that’s tuned in. And if you’re a religious person, you go through your life and it’s time for you to pass on. These are three words that you hope you can speak after…

Well, great song of the ’80s, and I was just telling everybody in the live chat that this song brings me back to the Banff days when I lived in Banff and worked in Banff. And working up at the Banff Centre, walking to work and seeing elk and everything else. And that’s on your old Walkman, playing away. A whole bunch of memories in there. Heart in before that was “Straight On.” And Flash in the Pan started us all off with “Hey, St. Peter.” Fifteen minutes left in the show. Thanks, everybody, for tuning in. We got one more request coming your way. And I want to hopefully tell you we’re back here tomorrow, five p.m., Mountain Standard Time, until seven p.m., Mountain Standard Time. And hopefully we’ll see you, or at least you’ll hear me, tomorrow night’s show.

01:50:36

But let’s get back to the music, shall we, with some ABBA? [Timing uncertain.]

01:50:38

[Interlude or untranscribed audio.]

02:03:33

Jazz album, a great tune there. That is, of course, Queen and “Fat Bottom Girls.” In before that, Billy Ocean with “Caribbean Queen.” And we started off by request with ABBA. And “The Winner Takes It All.” That’s it for me. I’m out of here. I only got one more minute left in the show. Thanks, everybody, for tuning in. I appreciate your support.

02:03:52

Hopefully you had a good time today and listened to some good music. [Timing uncertain.]

02:03:55

We have some good music coming up as well. We got some Rise Against coming up. We got Les Paul, Mary Ford, as well as some Feist. But we’re going to end the show with the Moody Blues on Tuesday afternoon. Happy mental health to you all.
