Today was kind of a melancholy show, tried to let the music speak for me in this new start of a transition that i am heading toward. Is there regrets…of course, i can’t lie. Johnny Cash does a great version of the Trent Reznor(Nine Inch Nails) song Hurt while he has a change in meaning to his song, it still does the original justice. Reznor wrote the song about the numbness, self-loathing, and pain of severe drug addiction and depression. While Johnny’s version is a profound, melancholic reflection on mortality, deep regret, and looking back at a turbulent life as the end approaches. That is almost where i am sometimes or at least feel that way. Life is tough enough without support, it just seems to be banging your head against the wall and because you have done it so much you can’t even feel it anymore. As i am not turning 65 years old and seem to have gotten nowhere makes me wonder how much more time i have left and am i still going to do this all alone?
