Nothing i love more than sitting here and playing music, it is soooo calming and reassuring. I really have no idea which direction the show is going to go from one day to the next. I hope to get people to feel what music has in it, whether you have heard the song/band before or not. I do believe in the power of music, since i was a small child wishing i could be Dinah Ross or listening to stories from my uncles about who they seen in the mid to late 70’s in the Toronto area or just hiding away from my mother while growing up and avoiding her wrath. Music has always been there. Songs like todays featured artists, Default and their song “Deny” all about abandonment and wondering why they left and what i did wrong to cause it when really it might have had nothing to do with me but, they still left. The track portrays the raw desperation, self-sacrifice, and emotional exhaustion of a crumbling relationship and the emotional turmoil that follows. We are emotional, bruise and bleed in tandem to show how a failing relationship takes a heavy, metaphorically physical toll. Canadian band Streetheart and their song “Action” is another raw emotional song about betrayal, emotional betrayal and retribution. Playing these songs seems to soothe the beast because i can relate to their words, meanings and wish i could express my feelings like a Tina Turner or the other artists played today. People ask me all the time as too why I continue to do the show, I mean no one actually ever listens to the show except my sister so, why do i continue to do it? Good question but i believe it to be therapy for me, am i disappointed that no one listens…of course. Can I make people listen…NO!
