Featured Artists: Big Brother & The Holding Company, Marillion, Peter, Paul & Mary.

It is our Friday show with lots of things going on in my mind, it was kind of a mish mash of songs today as you can see by our featured artists. From “A Piece Of My Heart” by Big Brother & The Holding Company however they were not the first ones to record this song. I 1967 Erma Franklin recorded to and got a top 10 in Billboards Hot Rhythm & Blues singles chart. Plus it was also done by Faith Hill in 1994 and Melissa Ethridge did a duet with Joss Stone again in 2005. Peter, Paul & Mary were childhood favorites of mine with such great tunes like “Puff The Magic Dragon” or “Leaving On A Jet Plane” such wonderful memories. Last but certainly Marillion with their smash song “Kayleigh which was all about losing love because of Fish and his need/desire to make it is the record business and some people got lost behind. In fact it started a new name craze with people started calling their daughters that name. That is the charm/grace of music, each song has it’s very own meaning to whoever is listening to it. It might means absolutely something different to you then it does to myself. Shout out to Pete Dubois as his go too song is “The Doctor” by The Doobie Brothers. Also To Lawrence Anthony Royce for his go to song of Gordon Lightfoot “If You Could Read My Mind”
