Double Down Thursday
Started todays show with 54-40 Crossing A Canyon. Frontman Neil Osborne wrote the track while grappling with his father’s terminal cancer. Urged by his family to have a heartfelt conversation with his father, Osborne tried to broach the subject while driving him to the hospital. His father, a World War II veteran, was a man of a generation that often avoided heavy emotional discussions. When Osborne tried to open up, his father essentially told him that words weren’t necessary because he already understood. The “canyon” metaphorically represents this uncrossable expanse of communication and emotion between the two men. Today was Double Down Thursday where we play 2 songs from each artist, Rolling Stones had some amazing songs in their many years of recording and are considered one of the all time great artists. I played my favorite Stones tune Sympathy For The Devil and followed it up with Paint It Black. Pink Floyd is up next with the live version of Keep Talking then Time a classic Floyd song. That’s what todays show is all about Double Down Thursday, hope you enjoy it, I know i did.
