The title says it all and what a wonderful life it has been.
The problem with that type of lifestyles…you get used to it, you almost can predict when the two back will happen. A fun game you can play with your friends, pick the one step forward and call your friends and let them know that the two back are gonna happen. They will give you that whole positive outlook stuff and you will thank them for their support.
Then the two steps back happens…do you call them immediatly or hesitate?
Perfect example happened last couple of weeks, finally got the ok to go back to work after my second heart attack, doctor said that a couple of days a week should be fine to start and then build from there. I called my boss to let him know and we arranged my first day back to work…woohoo party time. The morning I was to start back to work, my boss calls me real early in the morning stating that his boss had informed him that I needed a letter from my doctor stating what my limitations were as far as work duties. A whole liability issue so, I figured it would be no problem and called the doctors office to hand on the message of needed letter.
As the world knows…these times are messed up, doctors not seeing patients, no office visits without approval and sanitizer/mask etc etc. Letter took a week to get done! Still with positive thought bouncing thru my brain I called my boss stating that I have the letter…they gave my job to someone else. Took to long to get so, they had to replace me.
A refresher for those keeping track, step forward(ok to go back to work) now the two steps back(need letter, took a week to get).
Now if this type of lifestyle only happened once and a while, we wouldn’t be in this blog but, this happens consistently to myself. I even have friends who notice, family members who comment on if it wasn’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all.
Now not to get all negative Nelly on everyone cause I still try as hard as I can to keep positive. It is still exciting when I do take that one step forward, positive thought, wake up each morning feet planted firmly on terra ferma.
If you know people in a similar situation, as there are others…i’m not alone! Do yourself a favour, keep the positive thought up, don’t ever stop patting those people on the shoulder or lending a hand to pick them up and dust them off.
Next time we get to talk about quitting smoking after 44 years…
