That is Google’s English Dictionary definition of the word assume…another well known definition is…assume, to make an ass out of you and me.

So, when you marry someone and say those vows…to love, honor, cherish in sickness and health, for richer or poorer till death do you part. Which definition is relevant?

is it suppose to be the case, without proof?

or is it take or begin to have?

Maybe it is seize or take on but, it might be adopt falsely?

Would you even dare to think it is make an ass put of you and me?

That being said it makes me think that maybe it could be a first date kind of question. Imagine how it feels after many years with a wife/husband believing you both have the same definition for this word, only to find out, you married “a make an ass out of you and me” and you are “a it is suppose to be the case, without proof?”

Wouldn’t that just kick you in the head!

the reason for this word definition game is simply a matter of curiosity I guess. A wonder as too how many more definitions am I wrong at. Would I pass todays English language if i was a student in todays society?

Because we have all heard how things were different when our parents/elders etc were when they were young. Well here I am with my 60′s style morals and ethics in a almost non existent morals and ethics of the new millennium . Not too say there are none out there to be found, they just are not as readily found in these times.

Ok, lets put other words to the test…

Karma (Sanskrit: कर्म IPA: [ˈkərmə] ( listen);[1] Pali: kamma) in Indian religions is the concept of “action” or “deed”, understood as that which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect (i.e., the cycle called saṃsāra) originating in ancient India and treated in Hindu, Jain, Buddhist and Sikh philosophies.[2]

‘Karma’ is an Indian religious concept in contradistinction to ‘faith’ espoused by Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), which view all human dramas as the will of God as opposed to present—and past—life actions. In theistic schools of Hinduism, humans have free will to choose good or evil and suffer the consequences, which require the will of God to implement karma’s consequences, unlike Buddhism or Jainism which do not accord any role to a supreme God or gods. In Indian beliefs, the karmic effects of all deeds are viewed as actively shaping past, present, and future experiences. The results or ‘fruits’ of actions are called karma-phala.[3]

–noun

1. Hinduism, Buddhism . action, seen as bringing upon oneself inevitable results, good or bad, either in this life or in a reincarnation: in Hinduism one of the means of reaching Brahman. Compare bhakti ( def. 1 ) , jnana.

2. Theosophy . the cosmic principle according to which each person is rewarded or punished in one incarnation according to that person’s deeds in the previous incarnation.

3. fate; destiny.

4. the good or bad emanations felt to be generated by someone or something.

If I assume i understand this definition…it means that good and evil will balance itself out either by a Gods doing or just plain dumb luck, good or bad.

I define Karma as the balance if anyone was thinking of asking! Having said that…when in life does the balance start? I have done some bad things in my life, I believe I have done more good that bad. Who is the judge? Who has the deciding vote/ say in this matter?

Having lived 1 year shy of half a century, and endured/done many horrible things/ crimes committed against my person. I wonder frequently when the good karma is coming my way!

I will keep with the same scenario for this definition as the above mentioned definition. Both of you enter your marriage vows with good karma. What happens to the good karma? Does it become bad karma for both involved?

Lets see if I can use both words in a sentence so it can make sense to me…I can assume that there is an ass, and karma makes you and me kiss it.

So there, the transition is complete…i have become my parent/elder
